Flash Player Left Android Mobile

RealPlayer has just returned for Android, while flash player has left. How much further will it go on?

As a cross-platform, browser-based application runtime, Adobe Flash player provides uncompromised viewing of expressive applications, content, and videos, content, and videos across browsers and operating systems. It can be used for viewing multimedia, Rich Internet Applications, and streaming video and audio, on a computer web browser or mobile devices.

But the application in mobile devices came to the end after Apple refused to allow the Flash Player within the inbuilt iOS web browser. About a week ago on August 15th, Adobe Systems officially declared no flash player for portable android devices anymore. Actually, Adobe has already made decision not to develop flash player for web on mobile.

Adobe flash player and android

Adobe once tried hard for portable devices, but was banned by Apple. Adobe will block new installs of Flash on Android, essentially removing its presence from the mobile world. People say that Adobe would have turned its purpose on Android, but never effectively marketed its integration features with Google’s popular mobile OS. iOS never stands behind it as Steve Jobs expressed in April 2010: iPhone, iPod and iPad would never have flash player found.

Is the era of html 5 for mobile coming as flash player die away? On another hand, the exit of mobile field of flash player actually means to give up a greater market-85% Android OS of the whole mobile market.

Android 4.1 does not allow installation of flash player, and now it’s official. From then on, Adobe will disable all new installs of Flash player for Android. However, this never means this software or flash would disappear from people’s life. As a matter of fact, it still owns great advances over other player in the PC world-Google’s Chrome support it, by the way. Windows 8 from Microsoft still has built-in flash player since html 5 is not stable enough for the market. With all these changes in the internet world and portable devices, I wonder how long can flash last?

What is Windows Media Player?

Windows Media Player (abbreviated WMP) is a media player and media library application developed by Microsoft that is used for playing audio, video and viewing images on personal computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system, as well as on Pocket PC and Windows Mobile-based devices. Editions of Windows Media Player were also released for Mac OS, Mac OS X and Solaris but development of these has since been discontinued.

windows media player for win7
In addition to being a media player, Windows Media Player includes the ability to rip music from and copy music to compact discs, burn recordable discs in Audio CD format or as data discs with playlists such as an MP3 CD, synchronize content with a digital audio player (MP3 player) or other mobile devices, and enable users to purchase or rent music from a number of online music stores.

Windows Media Player replaced an earlier application called Media Player, adding features beyond simple video or audio playback.

Windows Media Player 11 is available for Windows XP and included in Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. The default file formats are Windows Media Video (WMV), Windows Media Audio (WMA), and Advanced Systems Format (ASF), and its own XML based playlist format called Windows Playlist (WPL). The player is also able to utilize a digital rights management service in the form of Windows Media DRM.

Windows Media Player 12 is the most recent version of Windows Media Player. It was released on July 22, 2009 along with Windows 7 and has not been released for previous versions of Windows.

Free Mac VLC Player?

VLC Media Player is a longtime open-source favorite, and the latest version offers fixes and feature enhancements for the Mac version that make it a must download. It's not the only option for free video playback, but it's one of the best, and it's often the go-to media player for Mac users who can't seem to play a specific media file.

VLC Media player offers a number of tools and customization options to manage and watch video. Users get frame-by-frame advancement; granular speed controls allowing for on-the-fly slower or faster playback; and live recording of streaming video. The toolbars are fully customizable, so you can have only the buttons you need in the interface.

This version comes with improvements to the interface, support for MxPEG files and streaming, and more. Along with minor tweaks, VLC continues to offer robust support for a wide range of video and audio formats, including OGG, MP2, MP3, MP4, DivX, HD codecs like AES3, Raw Dirac, and even support for playing back zipped files. It can also be used as a server to stream in unicast or multicast in IPv4 or IPv6 on a high-bandwidth network.

The default interface was improved in recent updates, but integrated skinning can make it even better. Behavior can still be a bit unpredictable depending on the quality of the skin, but VLC's open-source foundation and community ensures that it evolves quickly and often, with new features and fixes released frequently.

Overall, VLC Media Player is a must-have application for its ability to open just about any type of video file you throw at it, making it a great option for Mac users having trouble playing certain file types.

Video Player for Your iPhone-Oplayer

We review OPlayer, an iPhone app that plays all your digital videos without the need to convert them into MP4s, or to load them through iTunes.
movie image

It doesn’t seem that long ago since Apple backpedalled on its decision not to allow third-party web browser apps on the iPhone, since it already had Safari built in.

But the public wanted those apps, and eventually they were allowed through the net. Now we’re suddenly starting to see video player applications, suggesting a similar thing has happened with multimedia playback.

OPlayer is the latest addition to this new trend, and provides superb playback quality of all your digital video files in a quick, easy and attractive package.
Natively the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad only accepts MP4 videos, and even then they must meet a very particular specification. If the audio sampling rate is even slightly different to what Apple insisted upon, the video wouldn’t work.
So being able to drag and drop most any computer-format video file into the iPhone, and immediately watch it, feels like a kingly gift after several years of tedious format conversions and battles with iTunes.

OPlayer accepts a host of well-used video file types, such as AVI, WMV, Xvid, Divx, MP4, MPG, MKV and more, and is just as happy to play your audio files in the MP3, WMA, RM or AAC formats. None of these files need any kind of conversion to play on the iPhone, and all are handled quickly and smoothly.

The app can comfortably overlay subtitles on the video playback, which can be part of a container file (such as MKV), included automatically by giving the subs file the same name as the video file, or loaded in manually from an external SUB or SRT file.

Playback of files is immensely convenient, resembling the native YouTube application in many respects, while adding in a few important features to help you keep your files organised. Primarily this includes the methods used to move videos to and from the app, which can be done through iTunes’ file sharing function using a simple, and fast, drag and drop.

Streaming is supported over HTTP, while FTP and SAMBA sharing is also included should you want to drag files off a suitably equipped server or a computer. And should you wish to move files over to the device wirelessly, a web client is included allowing you to send video over Wi-Fi in either direction.

A playlist function is available for both video and audio, and you can create custom lists of websites, servers or other sources you’re likely to call upon regularly for bringing in the content.

All this might sound a bit complex in description, but that’s not something OPlayer is easily accused of. Ignoring any of the transfer protocols that many people won’t use anyway, this is a very simple and impressively efficient app to use.

The features are all there if you really need them, but for quickly filling up your device with videos to watch when and where you want, OPlayer delivers everything you need within a few button presses.

Apple should have included an app like this in the iPhone’s firmware, but OPlayer more than earns its £1.79 by cutting out the tedious MP4 file conversions alone. Bundle all its other great features in, and you’ve got a first class app that would be a bargain at twice the price.

The player offers quick playback and a fully skinable interface. For media playback, it includes almost all the essential decoders required built in. Additionally KMP also supports 3rd party codecs and also doesn't install the codecs on the computer like other codecs do.

Kantaris plays most file formats without additional codecs and will also play RAR archives as well as multisection DVD's and audio CD's and stream online videos. Its recherché interface is impressive. Kantaris has a unique feature which detects the character encoding of subtitles by analyzing the text. Apple movie trailers and a local Video library both giving you cool 3D effect along with Last.fm are also incorporated. Kantaris connects to an online subtitle database to find subtitles that are a perfect fit to the played media.

Zoom Player claims that it supports every format (AVI, DIVX, XVID, MPEG, Flac Audio, Monkey Audio, Matroska, Windows Media, OGM, RealMedia, QuickTime, Flash and more), updated on a regular basis (new stable beta releases every few weeks), every feature is fully documented, supports all the latest playback technologies (Multi Monitor, VMR9, P2P Video Preview). Special TV Viewing features allowing easy remote control of your media playing experience.
