Step up 3 Trailer

"It's time for protest art!" Another one? Indeed. This time Summit has taken over and instead of calling it Step Up 4 3D x10, it's just called Step Up Revolution, directed by Scott Speer, of "The LXD" previously. The trailer has just premiered online via ClevverTV and it's two-and-a-half minutes packed full of dancing ridiculousness, from floating cars to painted museum art come-to-life to office building dance offs to giant trash robots to dancing policemen. Yea, it's exciting. The obviously beautiful-looking cast this time includes Kathryn McCormick, Ryan Guzman, Stephen Boss, Chadd Smith and Megan Boone. Have fun!
Watch the first official trailer for Scott Speer's Step Up Revolution, in high def on YouTube:

"It's more than a step, it's a revolution!" Emily (Kathryn McCormick) arrives in Miami with aspirations to become a professional dancer. She soon sparks with Sean, the leader of a dance crew whose neighborhood is threatened by Emily's father's new development plans. For more updates, visit their Facebook or Twitter.

Step Up Revolution is the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Scott Speer, who worked on Jon M. Chu's "The LXD" and directed The LXD 2: Secrets of the Ra, and produced The Beat as well. The screenplay was written by newcomer Jenny Mayer. Produced by Offspring and Summit Entertainment, Step Up 4, or Step Up Revolution, is being released in 3D in theaters on July 27th this summer. Looks pretty crazy, eh?

Review of the London Olympic Opening Ceremony

On July 27, the 30th Olympic Games ceremony uncovered all secrets of this great event. The 3-hour show turned out to be a real party for the British people, they were pround of themselves.

The beginning dealt with historical events – about the land and machinery and women's rights – epically and poetically.

Music and movies outstand the whole performance-especially Mr. Bean and Paul's "Hey Jude".Besides, the way the torch lit up definetely shined the whole world, innovative and impressive.

The video below is a review of more information from YouTube, I found it interesting and want to share with you.

Olympic Games Online and in Your Mobile

All eyes are on London these days, where athletes of the world are getting ready to compete in the 2012 Olympic Games. And there’s some good news for sports fans: Not only are the main competitions scheduled to happen during times when most of us in North America are actually awake, you’ll also be able to watch almost everything in real-time online – as opposed to the hours of tape delay that are common for traditional TV coverage of the games.

However, there’s a bit of a caveat: NBC will be streaming more footage than ever before – but only to viewers that can authenticate themselves as pay TV subscribers. How does that work, where can you watch once you’re authenticated, and what else can you do with your iPad, iPhone or Android mobile device?

How to Watch 2012 Olympics Games?

The following 3 methods will be nice for you to enjoy watching London 2012 Olympic Games.

1. London Olympics Live Streaming on YouTube
Youtube has official live streaming of the all Olympic games by IOC (International Olympic Committee). You can watch live streaming of the games in more than 60 countries including USA, UK, India. All you need is a browser on any device including PC/Mac, iPad, Android Tablets like Nexus 7, iPhone, Android phones like Galaxy S3 etc.

2. TVCatchup.com lets you watch live free-to-air UK television on your computer, phone or games console. Versions of the site optimised for iPad and iPhone are available at ipad.tvcatchup.com and iphone.tvcatchup.com.
Head to TVCatchup.com and click the Sign Up button to begin. You'll need to enter a username, email address and password, then click Submit.

Once logged in, you're presented with a channel list. The London 2012 Olympic Games will be broadcast by the BBC; choose the correct channel for the particular event you want to watch live online. You can also change the stream quality, which is useful if you don't have a particularly fast broadband connection.

If this is the first time you've used TVCatchup, it will prompt you to update your profile with your gender, date of birth and occupation before you can begin watching live TV. On the following screen you will also need to select your region preference, then click Update Region.

TVCatchup kicks off with an ad or two, then immediately begins streaming your chosen TV channel. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the sport.

3. iPlayer is the BBC's free catch-up TV service. Programmes are available for seven days following their transmission, but note that the service's Download and Series Record features are not usually available for sporting events, such as the London 2012 Olympic Games.
To watch the London 2012 Olympic Games on a Windows, Mac or Linux PC, simply head to bbc.co.uk/iplayer for the desktop version of the site. Dedicated apps are available from Google Play and the App Store for Android 2.2+ tablets and the iPad respectively, while Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii owners can stream content from Xbox Live, the PlayStation Network or through a Wii app.

If the sporting event you're after isn't featured in the top panel, choose BBC One or BBC Two in the TV Channels section to the bottom left. The following screen will show the programme listings for the past seven days; you can also view today's guide and listings for the next two days. Click the date on which the event was broadcast in the timeline at the top of the screen.

Scroll down to find and select the event in the list. Click the arrow in the video frame to begin playback. Clicking again on the preview window reveals options to pause, fast-forward and rewind the action, turn on subtitles, and watch the event full-screen or in a pop-out window.

London 2012: Online Video Player for Olympic

As have been discussed in this blog previously, BBC Sport will broadcast all 2,500 hours of competitive action at London 2012 via its new live interactive video player.
London 2012
That's 1,000 more hours than Beijing 2008 and is the most comprehensive coverage of an Olympics ever undertaken.

To help you navigate all the action, we have created the new live and interactive video player for PCs and laptops.

It gives viewers access to up to 24 live HD streams and complete control of what you want to watch, when you want to watch it.

Our navigation menu makes it easy to switch between the many events.

You can also pause and rewind live action and instantly jump back to footage of any of the action that has already happened. Chapter markers will help you to find key moments within a session, such as the gold-medal winning moment.

The interactive video player also offers relevant statistics and information to the event you are watching, including an event guide and athlete profiles.

In addition to the PC and laptop service, the BBC's Red Button service on Sky, Virgin Media and Freesat will also offer audiences access to up to 24 live streams, while there will be an additional 24-hour channel of extra BBC Olympics content available via the BBC Red Button for audiences with Freeview and BT Vision.

The BBC Sport app for connected TVs will give audiences access to the BBC's interactive coverage, while Virgin Media TiVo users will be able to access this content via the BBC Red Button.

An Olympic mobile app and the BBC's mobile website will also allow audiences to access content on the go.

VLC for Android

As a free and open source cross-platform multimedia player, VLC video player supports most multimedia file formats, including discs, devices, or network streaming protocols.
This widely-welcomed multimedia player developed at an astounding speed. From the birth year of 2005 to this year 2012, the total downloading figure reaches 1 billion. According to some data analysis, the majority downloading is from Windows platform (about 89%); and that from Linux and Mac is much lower, yet at a high installation rate. Even people say the actual number could be much more than this.

The new version for Mac Retina screen is available already. This version solves the previously reported problems such as playing in Blu-ray, and video rotation, crop, etc.

To achieve the target of becoming one of the most comprehensive and sophisticated multimedia player, VLC developed the Android version for the users. It is released in the VideoLAN on July 2nd and can be downloaded from Google Play. For the moment, the new version only can support ARMv7 processor, and the developers announced that it will be compatible with more smartphones and tablets in the near future. Temporary, this version is not stable and is slower than the final version.

BBC has just launched the new version live interactive player earlier this July, which meanwhile introduced the BBC beta application of BBC sports on Facebook. BBC said all this is done for welcoming the soon arrival of the coming London 2012 summer Olympic Games.

This new version interactive player will provide 24 HD video streams accompanied with the function of reminding you of important watches and other information as well as some statistics. Such player is compatible with personal computer and also can be applied to tablets that support flash technology. Then you can watch live show of Olympic anywhere ever possible.

BBC Sport Facebook app also supports stream video. In addition, there is easy access for the users to learn about what their friends are watching, and what the most popular matches are at the moment.

Free Mac VLC Player?

VLC Media Player is a longtime open-source favorite, and the latest version offers fixes and feature enhancements for the Mac version that make it a must download. It's not the only option for free video playback, but it's one of the best, and it's often the go-to media player for Mac users who can't seem to play a specific media file.

VLC Media player offers a number of tools and customization options to manage and watch video. Users get frame-by-frame advancement; granular speed controls allowing for on-the-fly slower or faster playback; and live recording of streaming video. The toolbars are fully customizable, so you can have only the buttons you need in the interface.

This version comes with improvements to the interface, support for MxPEG files and streaming, and more. Along with minor tweaks, VLC continues to offer robust support for a wide range of video and audio formats, including OGG, MP2, MP3, MP4, DivX, HD codecs like AES3, Raw Dirac, and even support for playing back zipped files. It can also be used as a server to stream in unicast or multicast in IPv4 or IPv6 on a high-bandwidth network.

The default interface was improved in recent updates, but integrated skinning can make it even better. Behavior can still be a bit unpredictable depending on the quality of the skin, but VLC's open-source foundation and community ensures that it evolves quickly and often, with new features and fixes released frequently.

Overall, VLC Media Player is a must-have application for its ability to open just about any type of video file you throw at it, making it a great option for Mac users having trouble playing certain file types.

i-Devices Rush Player Activation

In the previous blogs, we've discussed many video players for i-devices, such as AVplayer, movie player, etc. This time, the video below will introduce another cool player-Rush Player. It is about how to gain the full version activation code for Rush Player+.

Review of Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2

 Galaxy Player 4.2

The good: The Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 offers most of the capabilities of Samsung's popular Android smartphones, minus the phone and monthly fees.

The bad: Both the software and the processor are relatively old by smartphone standards. Parents should know there are no safeguards included to restrict access to age-inappropriate content.

The bottom line: When it comes to competing with Apple's iPod Touch media player, the Galaxy Player 4.2 is Samsung's best effort yet, but it's still playing catch-up.

Design
This is by far the prettiest Galaxy Player device I've seen yet. I know I said the same thing about the Galaxy Player 3.6, but the 4.2 is newer, prettier, and thinner. The lightweight, black (or white if you have that model) plastic casing feels good in your hand, though it does smudge easily.

It measures a slender 0.35 inch thick, again putting it in the ballpark of the 0.28-inch iPod Touch. When you account for the fact that the Player's removable back plate conceals a replaceable battery and a microSD memory card slot, the extra girth seems excusable.

You get a standard volume rocker and power button on the right edge of the Player 4.2, along with a headphone jack and Micro-USB port on the bottom. Samsung throws in a pair of decent in-ear headphones (with in-line mic), a USB cable, and a power outlet adapter.

Features
The Galaxy Player offers most of the features you'd expect in a modern smartphone, minus the phone or cellular data connection. You'll find front and rear cameras (maxing out at 2 megapixels), GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, and support for Google's suite of official mobile applications, including Gmail, Google Talk, and the Android Market (now Google Play). If you're someone who's already invested heavily in Android Market apps, it makes sense that you'd want a device that can run them.

One unique feature worth mentioning is the inclusion of an FM radio tuner. People are still nuts for radio, and it also comes in handy for tuning into TV audio at the gym.

Netflix Video Player of Improved Version

Screenshot by Dara Kerr/CNET
Netflix began rolling out a new fandangled video player for PCs today. Besides beefing up the playback with added options, information, and video accessibility, the video service also redesigned the control bar to be more user-friendly.

There are a handful of notable new features to the video playback. First, the control bar has different options that include access to subtitles, previews of the next episode, and previews to the whole season (if users are watching a TV show). If users click on the previews to the whole season, a box will pop-up that lets them watch previews from within the same screen. Also, if the video stays paused for a few seconds a text overlay will show up saying what the user is currently watching.

Things seem to be looking pretty bright for Netflix this week. Just earlier today the company announced that it was winning back former customers who quit the service after its controversial price hike last fall.

According to GigaOM, which first reported the new video player, users can also resize their browser window while watching videos. This can help users multitask while watching Netflix and also may help sizing if using the streaming service with a connected television set.

Video Player for Your iPhone-Oplayer

We review OPlayer, an iPhone app that plays all your digital videos without the need to convert them into MP4s, or to load them through iTunes.
movie image

It doesn’t seem that long ago since Apple backpedalled on its decision not to allow third-party web browser apps on the iPhone, since it already had Safari built in.

But the public wanted those apps, and eventually they were allowed through the net. Now we’re suddenly starting to see video player applications, suggesting a similar thing has happened with multimedia playback.

OPlayer is the latest addition to this new trend, and provides superb playback quality of all your digital video files in a quick, easy and attractive package.
Natively the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad only accepts MP4 videos, and even then they must meet a very particular specification. If the audio sampling rate is even slightly different to what Apple insisted upon, the video wouldn’t work.
So being able to drag and drop most any computer-format video file into the iPhone, and immediately watch it, feels like a kingly gift after several years of tedious format conversions and battles with iTunes.

OPlayer accepts a host of well-used video file types, such as AVI, WMV, Xvid, Divx, MP4, MPG, MKV and more, and is just as happy to play your audio files in the MP3, WMA, RM or AAC formats. None of these files need any kind of conversion to play on the iPhone, and all are handled quickly and smoothly.

The app can comfortably overlay subtitles on the video playback, which can be part of a container file (such as MKV), included automatically by giving the subs file the same name as the video file, or loaded in manually from an external SUB or SRT file.

Playback of files is immensely convenient, resembling the native YouTube application in many respects, while adding in a few important features to help you keep your files organised. Primarily this includes the methods used to move videos to and from the app, which can be done through iTunes’ file sharing function using a simple, and fast, drag and drop.

Streaming is supported over HTTP, while FTP and SAMBA sharing is also included should you want to drag files off a suitably equipped server or a computer. And should you wish to move files over to the device wirelessly, a web client is included allowing you to send video over Wi-Fi in either direction.

A playlist function is available for both video and audio, and you can create custom lists of websites, servers or other sources you’re likely to call upon regularly for bringing in the content.

All this might sound a bit complex in description, but that’s not something OPlayer is easily accused of. Ignoring any of the transfer protocols that many people won’t use anyway, this is a very simple and impressively efficient app to use.

The features are all there if you really need them, but for quickly filling up your device with videos to watch when and where you want, OPlayer delivers everything you need within a few button presses.

Apple should have included an app like this in the iPhone’s firmware, but OPlayer more than earns its £1.79 by cutting out the tedious MP4 file conversions alone. Bundle all its other great features in, and you’ve got a first class app that would be a bargain at twice the price.

Video Player Definiton

A video player is a kind of media player for playing back digital video data from media such as optical discs (for example, DVD, VCD), as well as from files of appropriate formats such as MPEG, AVI, RealVideo, and QuickTime.
In addition to VCR-like functions such as playing, pausing, stopping, rewinding, and forwarding, some common functions include zooming/full screen, audio channel selection, subtitle selection, and frame capturing.
Many of the video players also support simple playback of digital audio and 3D playback of 2D video.

3D Video players are used to play back 2D video in 3D format.

A high-quality three-dimensional video presentation requires that each frame of a motion picture/video be embedded with information on the depth of objects present in the scene. This process involves shooting the video with special equipment from two distinct perspectives or modelling and rendering each frame as a collection of objects composed of 3D vertices and textures, much like in any modern video game, to achieve special effects. Tedious and costly, this method is only used in a small fraction of movies produced worldwide, while most movies remain in the form of traditional 2D images.

It is, however, possible to give an otherwise two-dimensional picture the appearance of depth with a much more simple approach. Using a technique known as anaglyph processing a "flat" picture can be transformed so as to give an illusion of depth when viewed through anaglyph glasses (usually red-cyan). An image viewed through anaglyph glasses appears to have both protruding and deeply embedded objects in it, at the expense of somewhat distorted colours. The method itself is old enough, dating back to mid-19th century , but it is only with recent advances in computer technology that is has become possible to apply this kind of transformation to a series of frames in a motion picture reasonably fast or even in real time, i.e. as the video is being played back. Several implementations exist in the form of 3D video players that render conventional 2D video in anaglyph 3D, as well as in the form of 3D video converters, that transform video into stereoscopic anaglyph and transcode it for playback with regular software or hardware video players.

Netflix's Video Player

The video streaming service overhauls its video player for browser-based watching, adding in a host of new features and options, including single TV episode and whole season previews.

Netflix

AVPlayer for Apple

Neither the iPad nor the iPhone lack for good video-playing options. Between Apple’s own Videos, the built-in YouTube app, and third-party offerings Netflix, Hulu, and Air Video—all of which I use regularly—it’s hard to imagine wanting, or needing, another. AVPlayer HD and AVPlayer, separate apps for the iPad and iPhone, do fill what may be an important niche for some users. That is, the apps from ePlayWorks enable you to play videos that reside on your iPad or iPhone, encoded in just about every major format. And they perform that task well.

But transferring videos to the AVPlayer library is awkward—you can do so with a USB connection, or wirelessly through your computer’s web browser or an FTP program, after you open the app, obtain a specific address you enter into your browser, and then upload the videos to the browser. The iPad or iPhone app then immediately imports the videos.

The beatles interview with dusty springfield
Video Maniac: AVPlayer plays many different video formats very well—an FLV file, in this case. You can view technical information about your video, as shown here, and speed up or slow down the playing speed with the plus/minus control, on the right.

Air Video, as well as other file transfer apps, in contrast, provide a free utility that you install on your computer, and after an initial, single setup process, allow for simple wireless transfer. Air Video, a universal iOS app, can play videos in many formats as well, translating them on the fly as they stream via Wi-Fi or even from a remote Web connection. Unlike AVPlayer, however, Air Video does not play videos that are already stored on your device.

Considering the ease with which videos can be converted to the iOS-friendly MP4 format with both Mac and Windows utility programs, it’s difficult to imagine that AVPlayer will provide any advantages for most users. That said, both the iPad and iPhone versions of the app performed impressively: Videos of varying lengths and formats all played smoothly and clearly on both my iPad and iPod touch. And one extra feature—the ability to speed up videos to play up to twice their normal speed or down to half-speed—is also a nice touch.

You Can't Post London Olympics Videos or Photos Online

Despite the upcoming 2012 London Olympics dubbed the first "social" games, the organisers have imposed heavy restrictions on what spectators and athletes can do with the photos and videos they take.

Olympic-goers are barred from uploading photos and videos of the events on social networking sites, not limited to Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. As if that wasn't crazy enough in this day and age, "branding police" will ensure that non-Olympic logos and trademarks will be covered in and around Olympic venues.

As the Guardian notes, athletes will not even be able to tweet which brand-named cereal they are eating that particular morning. Send in the troops should Sir Chris Hoy tweet about his epic bowl of Weetabix.
2012 London Olympics (Source: CNET)
But Olympic bosses have admitted the ban on spectators posting content is "unenforceable", claiming there is "not much [the organisers] can do about it."

The rules are so strict, in a bid to protect contracts signed to generate vast sums of sponsorship money for the Games, that athletes are not allowed to have their photos taken next to branded products that are not official sponsors of the Games. Even Twitter is disallowing non-official sponsors advertising with promoted ads under Olympic trademarks, such as #London2012.
The Olympic tickets state:
"Images, video and sound recordings of the Games taken by a Ticket Holder cannot be used for any purpose other than for private and domestic purposes and a Ticket Holder may not license, broadcast or publish video and/or sound recordings, including on social networking websites and the Internet more generally."
The reason is due to the brand laws passed in the UK not too long ago in preparation for the upcoming Games. The Olympic Symbol (Protection) Act 1995, and in particular the London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Act 2006, both protect the Games from abuses and those who wish to cash in despite not holding official sponsorship accreditation.

The London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) said that a "common sense approach" however would be enacted to ensure that especially those in the commercial sector frankly don't push their luck.

"Media rights are sold --- can we police everything these days? Absolutely not," Sir Keith Mills, deputy chairman of LOCOG told the BBC.

"The internet has changed the world and we're not going to be silly. But the reality is that we live in an Internet world where Facebook downloads and uploads are happening every day of the week and there's not much we can do about it."
"We are looking to stop people who seek to use them for commercial purposes," a London 2012 spokesperson said. A clarification will be issued as and when the tickets are distributed, they said.
